When I look back at these earlier works, I see both how much I have evolved as a painter, and how honest those pieces were from the beginning. Themes that first intrigued me still return today, along with inner states that continue revealing themselves over time. I can also trace the moment painting shifted from a passionate hobby into a discipline, where visual expression became a form of listening inward, and where I could disappear into philosophical questions that have long stayed with me.
